Book Review- Hair Care Rehab: The Ultimate Hair Repair & Reconditioning Manual by Audrey Davis-Sivasothy

I just received a copy of Hair Care Rehab: The Ultimate Hair Repair & Reconditioning Manual by Audrey Davis-Sivasothy (the author of Science of black hair) and I’m amazed how much she knows about hair. She talks about everything with regards to hair: from seborrheic dermatitis to psoriasis to regimen building, chlorine & pool water damage, dandruff& dry scalp, hair loss & thinning, shedding, ringworm, sluggish hair growth, thinning hair edges, oily hair, fine/limp hair, etc.. I mean everything. She elaborates on how to bring your hair back from ‘the dead’: starting first with a chelating shampoo to remove mineral build up and then regular deep conditioning with a moisturizing conditioner until your hair is ready for protein. She also stresses on the importance of moisturizing and sealing & the type of products to use depending on your hair type.
If you read this and her first book, The Science of Black Hair: A Comprehensive Guide to Textured Hair Care, you will be very educated about how to take adequate care of your hair. I give the book 5 stars.
By the way, how are you guys doing with the Healthy hair bootcamp challenge? Don’t forget to send in your pictures so you can win your copy of The Science of Black Hair. Take care
