I am not a dustbin!
I’m always saying that I need to lose weight but I’ve been so erratic about it: today, I’m working out. Tomorrow, I’m not. I tried losing weight by exercising only without changing my diet but I didn’t notice any major changes. The reason why I didn’t want to diet was because I wanted to make a complete lifestyle change. It’s taken me a while to get motivated but I finally came up with a few resolutions 2 days ago. Every food that crosses my lips must meet the criteria.
- I am not a dustbin. As a wife and mom, I never want any food to waste. I always find myself eating leftovers so that I don’t have to discard them. This has got to stop. Any moms out there like this?
- I am not a taster. I have a habit of tasting stuff that my hubby and kids are eating. This has also got to stop.
- My body is a temple of God: I will stay away from foods that are damaging to the body e.g deep fat fried foods, fizzy drinks, white bread, etc
- I will eat most of my foods from complex carbohydrates and proteins.
- I will eat foods with a low fat content and limit my intake of refined carbohydrates.
Anyways, I went to a bookshop yesterday and I saw this book: 17 Day Diet: A Doctor’s Plan Designed for Rapid Results. When I skimmed through, I felt that it was in line with my new eating resolution so I bought it. I’ll write more about the book soon. Do take care.

I totally agree with your resolutions. I am also on the weight loss train and it has been a very slow journey because of some of the reasons you highlighted. I eat a lot of leftovers and have the silly habit of having the first spoon of my children’s food. I decided to reduce their portions and whatever they eat that is left over I will put in a plate as my own meal instead of eating that and still eating my own food.
Good luck.
It`s not a silly habit that you taste your children`s food. It`s not a bad thing what you`re doing by eating their leftovers but not eating another meal afterwards. Good luck to you too Evee. 🙂
Thank God am not the only one having trouble with loosing weight. What you have outlined here is in sync with my dilemma. I’ll try out ur resolutions and see how far that takes me, especially my abs region.
Thanks for sharing.
You’re welcome Katchie! Tell me how it works out for you.
Unfortunately, I have no comment this time. I’ve been blessed with a slim frame even after three children. Wishing you all the best.
You’re lucky: I wish I didn’t have to work hard at staying slim!
