Hair diary for the week ending 18th August 2012

Hello there. I’ve decided to do a hair diary to show you what I do with my hair during the week. I don’t have a fixed regimen for now and I’m experimenting with a lot of products and processes so bear with me. You’ll know it when I get the regimen that I’ve been looking for if you keep following.

Wednesday night (15th August)

I put 3 flexirods on my hair, wore my shower cap and went to bed.

Thursday morning

Did some exercise and took the flexirods out afterwards. My hair was still wet so just did a simple updo.

Thursday night

Applied avocado oil to my hair. Next, I spritz a little Proclaim tea tree oil leave-in conditioner. I held my hair up with one bobby pin, lightly sprayed the ends, wore my satin bonnet and went to bed

Friday morning

Finger combed my hair and tucked in the ends.

Friday night

Applied coconut oil to my hair, brushed through the ends with my  Tangle Teezer Brush (just experimenting with this). Wore my shower cap, my hair bonnet on top of that and lastly a hair beret (for my weekly greenhouse effect).

Saturday morning

Washed my hair with Ion swimmer’s shampoo. Out of sheer laziness and curiousity, I decided to mix Joico Moisture Recovery Treatment Balmand Silk elements Kera minerals deep conditioner. I applied this to my hair and left it in for about 15 minutes with no heat. I rinsed it out but did not detangle under shower. I decided to skip using any leave-in conditioner because the Joico conditioner is VERY thick and oily. I only used serums: Keracare Silken Seal Liquid Sheen by Avlon and GVP silk remedy. I held my hair in a ponytail using a banana clip and I wore my silk scarf without brushing it down first.

Saturday night

My hair was about 70% dry and I detangled in sections with my wide-tooth comb. I had only a little breakage:

Next, I rolled the ends with about 8 Diane Satin Foam 1 1/2″ Rollers after spraying rosewater on each section. Went to bed.

Sunday morning

Took out the rollers and went to church without combing out my hair. My hair looks oily: I think I put too much serum. Next time I use the Joico moisture recovery balm, I’m not going to use any leave-ins at all!
