Wash day: a roller wrap set
Prepoo
- Applied Tropic Isle pimento oil to my scalp and massaged it in.
- Applied Jamaican castor oil conditioner to my hair and wore my heating cap for about 30 minutes. Although I like the ingredients of this conditioner, it doesn’t make my hair soft at all. That is why I am now using it as a ‘prepoo‘ conditioner. A full review to follow soon!
I shampooed my hair with Jamaican Black Castor Oil Shampoo
- I applied Tropic Isle Living Castor Oil Protein conditioner to my hair and wore my heating cap for about. When I took off my shower cap, my hair felt so heavy and I could barely rinse anything off: it felt like my hair had absorbed all the conditioner!
- I applied Salon Selectives Conditioner, Smooth And Straight and left it for about 3 minutes. Detangled my hair lightly under the shower.
Leave-ins and styling.
- I applied Tropic Isle Living Castor oil serum with argan oil to my hair. This is a nice product and I will do a review soon. Next, I applied Creme of Nature Argan Oil Wrap Lotion to my hair.
- I used my wide-tooth comb to detangle my hair in sections. For detangling my hair, I used Silk Elements Silken Child Leave-in detangler in the sections I felt were difficult to comb through easily.
- When I detangled a section, I would wrap it around my head and then secure it with a roller pin. All in all, I think I had about 12 sections. I couldn’t wrap the last section so I rolled it.
- If I wanted my hair smoother, I could have used a finer comb but I didn’t want that extra manipulation. This is how my hair looked when I was done wrapping it.
- Next, I covered my hair with a fish net scarf to prevent the hair dryer from blowing my hair off just in case. You can easily make this by converting your hair net into a scarf.
- I sat under my hair dryer for about 20 minutes with cool air. Afterwards, I turned up the heat and sat underneath for another 20 minutes. You can air dry if you don’t have a hair dryer.
- I went about my day with my hair wrapped. The following morning, I let down my hair, applied some hair serum, combed through and I was off to church.
The results
My hair felt light and fluffy which is what I like. You like? I learnt this rollerwrap method from a white girl on Youtube: sorry can’t remember her user name!!
