Product review: Tropic Isle Living Jamaican Castor Oil Conditioner

Before you buy this conditioner, please read this genuine review. I decided to do this review after someone left a comment that she had a not-so-good experience when she used the Jamaican Castor Oil Shampoo and Conditioner together.
Although, I have this conditioner in my Sizzelle E-store, I feel that I must be as candid as possible.

My thoughts
After shampooing my hair, I applied this conditioner. It didn’t feel creamy at all. This conditioner should NOT be called a conditioner because it doesn’t make hair soft AT ALL: on the contrary, it makes your hair brittle, almost like a hard protein treatment.
Although I was really disappointed when I used it, I wasn’t surprised though because
- It doesn’t contain water as the first ingredient. Its first ingredient is aloe vera juice.
- The actual conditioning agent (cetearyl alcohol) it contains is way at the bottom of the ingredient list.
Even when I used another conditioner afterwards, my hair still dried stiff. Maybe it didn’t work for me because I don’t have natural hair but I don’t believe this.
Conclusion
My hair completely absorbed the conditioner such that I didn’t have much to rinse off. This is a sign of a good treatment. Subsequently, I have used it as a PREPOO only because it contains some essential oils like lavender, cedarwood, rosemary, pimento which stimulate hair regrowth. If it didn’t contain these ingredients, I don’t think I would bother to use it again.
I might continue to use it as a PREPOO once in a while just because of its ingredient list. That’s all.
I think that there are many other all natural deep conditioners which are silicone-free and protein-free that are way better at softening the hair than this conditioner. One clear example is BEE MINE Beeeutiful Conditioner and I will be doing a review on this soon.
