Wash day: trying out two new products: Nexxus humectress Ultimate Moisture Deep Conditioning Treatment AND Elasta QP Intense Fortifying Conditioning Hair Treatment!

Whew! What a long title! LOL! And I’m back after a long hiatus from blogging!
So my last wash day went as follows:
Prepoo
On Friday night, I applied Elasta QP Intense fortifying hair conditioning treatment to my hair. I used this conditioner because it contains the penetrating oils: coconut oil, avocado oil and olive oil. I had used it previously as an after-shampoo deep conditioner but I didn’t feel it made my hair soft enough. I am always on a quest for products that make my hair soft so I dump anything that doesn’t. However on this occasion, as soon as I applied it to my hair, I felt my hair literally melt into softness defined. LOL.
I wore a shower cap over the conditioner and then my satin bonnet and went to bed.
What is the best oil for hair?
Shampoo
In the morning, I shampooed my hair with Ion Swimmer’s sulfate-free shampoo. That shampoo stings my eyes but I still use it because it’s sulfate-free and gets rid of chlorine (which is present in the water in my house). I didn’t want to lose the softness I felt from the Elasta QP conditioner I used for my overnight prepoo. So I was considering whether to just wash my hair with conditioner or use shampoo.
In the end, I decided to pour a few drops of the shampoo into a bowl of water and poured this diluted shampoo mix over my hair. My hair felt nice, clean and soft and I was very delighted. I now realize that I’ve been killing my hair by using my shampoo undiluted in the past!
Deep conditioning
Afterward, I applied Nexxus Humectress Ultimate Moisture Deep Conditioning Treatment (What a long name! LOL). I left this in for about 10 minutes without heat. I combed through my hair before rinsing it out! This conditioner has great slip: my hair was so easy to comb!! I didn’t notice much breakage. Although this conditioner is called a moisture treatment, I must tell you that it contains keratin and ceramides. I would call it a light protein conditioner.
Leave-in products
For my leave-ins, I did a naughty naughty thing: I mixed my new fave deep conditioner, Aussie Moist 3-Minute Miracle Deeep conditioner with water to form a leave-in conditioner. I applied this to my hair and detangling my hair was a breeze!!! I applied some grapeseed oil to my hair and brushed the top of my hair lightly and pinned up my ends. Then I tied my hair with a scarf for about 2 hours. Afterward, I took off the scarf and went about my day with my hair still pinned up. In the evening, my hair was almost dry. I applied some Jamaican Black Castor oil serum with argan oil to my scalp and hair. Put on my satin bonnet and went to bed. The following day, my hair had dried and this was how it looked:
My hair feels BETTER than it has ever felt since I started my hair journey…. I’m officially in love with Aussie moist 3-minute miracle deeep conditioner (hope I don’t fall out of love soon!)
As you might recall, I was having some issues with my hair breaking and all. My ends are really terrible now and I am so afraid to look at them. I’m just going to keep on till my next retouch and get a very good trim which I’m scared might take me back to armpit length. However, I’m really happy with the way my hair feels now that I know it’s going to bounce back healthier this time.
