Wash day post – 6th May 2013

My wash day regimen relaxed hair…

Prepoo

On Sunday afternoon, I applied Elasta QP Intense fortifying hair conditioning treatment to my hair.

I wore a shower cap over the conditioner and left this on for about 2 hours.

Shampoo

In the morning, I shampooed my hair with Ion Swimmer’s sulfate-free shampoo.

I added a few drops of the shampoo into a bowl of water and poured this diluted shampoo mix over my hair. My hair felt nice, clean and soft.

Deep conditioning

Afterward, I applied Joico Moisture Recovery Conditioner for dry hair. I wore a shower cap over this and sat down under the dryer for 20 minutes. I didn’t rinse off the conditioner for another 2 hours.  This conditioner has amazing slip: my hair felt sooo soft yet strong!! I didn’t notice much breakage. Although this conditioner is called a moisture recovery conditioner, I must tell you that it contains keratin and ceramides. I would call it a light protein conditioner.

Leave-in products

For my leave-ins, I mixed Aussie Moist 3-Minute Miracle Deeep conditioner with water to form a leave-in conditioner. I applied this to my hair and detangling my hair was a breeze!!! I did notice a little breakage and I’m considering if it’s from using this Aussie Moist as a leave-in. I really like the way it makes my hair feel though.

I applied some grapeseed oil to my hair and tied my hair with a scarf for about 1 hour. Since it was getting late, I didn’t want to go to bed with damp hair so I sat in front of the fan till my hair was 90% dry. I applied some Jamaican Black Castor oil serum with argan oil to my scalp and hair. Put on my satin bonnet and went to bed. The following day, my hair had dried and I decided that I needed a little trim:

Then I put my hair into a ponytail (I was 13 weeks post-relaxer on this wash day!)

My ends!!! I still need another trim!
