My wash day – 19th August 2013

This weekend’s wash day started early this morning. I woke up a little past midnight (I had fallen asleep around 10 pm while putting the kids to bed :P).

Prepoo

I applied Vatika Enriched Coconut oil  and covered my hair with a shower cap. Next, I wore my Cordless Hair Therapy wrap for about 20 minutes and then went back to bed. On my scalp, I applied some Hair Trigger (Regular Scent).

Shampoo

In the morning, I diluted my Elasta QP shampoo for relaxed hair with some water before applying it to my hair. I always dilute my shampoo because I use less shampoo and this equals less damage and drying out of my hair. This shampoo has a low pH and always leaves my hair feeling smooth.

Deep Conditioner

My conditioner for the day was Franck provost expert reparation masque professionnel. I covered my hair with a shower cap and sat underneath a hair dryer for about 20 minutes. I bought this conditioner in Paris and I like it because it contains CERAMIDES and it makes my hair so easy to comb through. I’ll try to stock it in our Sizzelle store soon because I think it’s really nice.

Leave-in products

  1. Aussie 3 minute miracle deeeep conditioner
  2. Liquid gold bald treatment on my scalp
  3. Hair Trigger (Regular Scent) on my hair to seal in the moisture. I find that when I’m airdrying, my hair dries smoother and silkier when I apply oils or butters to my wet hair.
  4. I sprayed Aphogee green tea restructurizer lightly.

Styling and drying

I smoothened the top of my hair with my fine-tooth comb then I tied my hair with my satin scarf.

I left the scarf on for about 4 hours then I sat under my hair dryer for about 20 minutes (very low heat). By this time, it was already evening so I simply wore my satin bonnet and went to bed.

This is how my hair turned out:

    Hi
I just wanted to say that I came across this site about 2 months ago, when I started my journey. In the begining my hair was fine with minimal damage after my relaxer, but then I began to airdry. No matter how many times I try after a wash, I always end up with tangled dry hair that breaks with every touch. I did an egg treatment two weeks ago, that helped, but yesterday I air dryed again and my hair is still dry and damaged and breaking! I don’t know what to do! Before, I must admit that I was reckless with my hair, I had actually left my hair in braids for almost 6 months ( in my family hair has never been a priority) and I suffered major damage when I took them out. But I got a trim and my hair seemed healthy for the first few weeks before the air drying. I’m 15 and it is a requirement to wear our hair in a ponytail 24/7 in school, and I always find clumps of hair on my ponytails whenever I take them out, and I promise their not even rubber or with the metal bands! I really don’t understand, since I’ve started, I’ve been doing everything by the book, Preepoo, DC’S, treatments, greenhouse, you name it! My parents think its ridiculous because I say im on a healthy hair journey, but my hair is even worse than it was before! Please help, and can you also give me airdrying alternatives ( I’m done with that) and hair band alternatives. Ps, my hair is about collarbone length and seriously uneven. I’m not considering cutting it any shorter because I know that has never been a good look for me. Sorry for the long post and thank you so much.
