Backstage hair diaries #5: Baggy, blow-dry and a twistout!

The Backstage Hair Diaries is an attempt to document my journey to find a hair regimen that suits me. I am looking for a regimen that pleases me with regards to aesthetics, hair thickness, hair length and ease. I don’t mind being experimental with my hair until I find something that works.
Long title I know 🙂
So, I’m still on my baggy-blowdry hair regimen. [My hair is almost 8 weeks post-relaxer].
My last wash day was about a week ago and I have done one baggy-blowdry since then. This is the second one. I will wash my hair in a few days.
Yesterday morning, I woke up around 5am. The first thing I did was to finger detangle my hair. Took a shower and rinsed my hair while I was at it. No time for a co-wash or condition. It was a weekday afterall and I had to be ready before 7 am.
1. Applied some Bee Mine Luscious Balanced Cream Moisturizer.
2. Wore 2 shower caps.
3. Wore my Heating cap. Dressed up.
4. Using the tension method, I detangled first with a wide-tooth comb and then blow-dried my hair in sections (low heat setting). I used cool air after each section to set it. (8 sections in all). In the crown area, I did two horizontal sections (instead of vertical ones) to prevent my hair from looking divided in the middle. I hope you understand what I mean. Twisted each section after blow drying and curled the ends with perm rods. Left them in, tied a scarf and wore a cute hat over. Jumped in my car. When I got to my destination at 9.30 am, I took off the rods, separated the twists carefully. Fluffed my hair at the roots and voila!!!

To care for my hair until my next wash day, I will finger comb it daily and protect my ends by putting them in a bun. I am not bothered about keeping the curls so I am not going to pineapple it. They never last anyway (especially since I hardly ever use a holding product or gel). I wear a satin pocket bonnet at bedtime to protect my hair while I sleep.
