New Year, New Hair

Hello peeps. Happy new year to you. How did you spend your time? My family went to the U.S to visit my brother and his wife who had just had a set of twin girls. We did have a nice time.
Just before Christmas, I had a relaxer touch up and the stylist relaxed my entire hair including the previously relaxed ends. I didn’t expect her to do that considering that the last time she did my touchup, she did the same thing. At the time, she told me that the next relaxer day, she would only do the roots. In hindsight, when I saw her apply the relaxer on the ends, I should have stopped her but I didn’t think the damage was going to be too bad. I was wrong! I have written several times about the dangers about relaxers but I disobeyed my own instructions.

My hair is much thinner than it was on my September relaxer day or the entire 2016. To top it up, my crown area is very thin and shorter than the rest of my hair. This was the same reason why I cut my hair in 2013.

My December Relaxer

If you compare the December results to the previous two relaxers, there is such an obvious difference in my hair thickness!

To cut a long story short, I have decided to do an impromptu big chop. I’m going to chop it all off and start again. This will give me time to get to know my God-given natural hair. I’m not making any promises on staying natural but I will try to give it at least one year. If I do get my hair relaxed again, I will be more careful about applying relaxers to my previously relaxed ends.

I would be honored if you followed me:

Yes it was quite sudden. I was happy with the state of my hair previously and I hate seeing my hair in this state. I haven’t done it yet but soon enough if I don’t chicken out. It’s been over 10 years since I had really short hair.
