What are your New Year’s health and beauty resolutions?
Hello everyone. Happy New Year to you. I stopped making resolutions since I was in High school because I always broke them before it was February. Now, I just make goals at different points in my life, not necessarily at the beginning of the year.
In the last year, I didn’t take very good care of my hair: I can’t count how many times I flat ironed my hair because it was just the fastest and easiest way to style my hair. Besides, I experienced a lot of hair shedding. As a result, I’ve lost a lot of hair thickness that I had previously gained. I’m glad that my hair has grown to almost brastrap length but I’m hoping I can get to mid-back length before the year is over. To achieve my hair goals, I plan to limit my use of direct heat, use natural oils including castor oil. I’m also considering using pimento oil. If I do, I’ll do a review on that.

Improve on my hair styling
Up my game in make-up, skin care and nails care
Improve my style in general by trying new clothing styles. I’m always in corporate suits!
Grow my daughter’s hair
Ifeyinwa dear, growing my daughters’ hair is also one of my priorities for this year; I only wish they would understand what the fuss is all about. 😛 As for being a product junkie, I think I’m one because I’m always looking for a better, simpler regimen. Hopefully, I’ll come with my best regimen this year so I can stop being a PJ! 😛 I also want to do the ‘Kate Middleton’ style of carrying clutch bags: she always looks so elegant!
Anyways, good luck to you on your beauty goals. I’ll be talking more about fashion & style, makeup and skin care soon.
Just checking in on my goals. I know it’s a bit early but I’ve made progress in the length department.
I only buy products I need so PJ is dying a natural death. Pls could you let me know of any good detangler. I see some in the supermarket but I don’t know what to check in the ingredients list.
Styling is still a challenge. Magnetic rollers are a pain. I’ve been using flexirods without much success either. However, your heatless waves video will change all that.
I don’t even know where I am in the make-up, skin and nails care dept.
Yes, less suits this year.
Yes, I’m taking very good care of my daughter’s hair. Always well moisturized even in braids. It helps that she loves having her hair made.
I love the fact I made this list. I can always go back and check my progress against this list. Yeah.
Good luck on your goals. I’m glad you’ve made progress in the length dept. Yay! 🙂
To be honest, I’m not really sure if I know any detanglers besides the one I use: I use Silken Child Leave-in Detangler but I don’t know if they have it here.. When I was in PH, my friend who had long hair then used to buy one from Everyday but I can’t remember the name. Any Johnson’s kids detangler would do: I love my daughter’s detanglers. They always make her hair soft.
Thanks, I’ll check for the Johnson’s detangler and try that out.
You’re welcome
