My experience with rhassoul clay

So, I decided to try out rhassoul clay on my relaxed hair. I dissolved about 75 g in warm water. As a true ‘mixologist’, I decided to turn it into a deep conditioning session. I mixed in my deep conditioner, aloe vera juice, my usual essential oils and, hempseed oil and avocado oil.
My hair was dry when I applied it. The mixture was a little creamy and easy to apply.
I covered my hair with a shower cap for about 2 hours. When I wanted to rinse it off, I noticed that it didn’t give my hair any ‘slip’. I rinsed it off and applied a conditioner to make it easy to comb through. I left it in for about 3 minutes and then rinsed off. After air drying my hair, I noticed that the back of my hair had some ‘coils’.
So, yay to rhassoul clay!!

Clay masks should only be left on for 10-20 minutes. If your hair is protein sensitive, go with a shorter amount of time – no more than 15. Applying on wet hair also works better for me. Keep in mind that whether applying wet or dry, your applying time is included in the amount of time you leave it on, so apply quickly, then rub it all over to ensure coverage. A little apple cider vinegar also helps with ph balance, but is not a necessity.
