Relaxer update: July 15th 2016

Hi my beauties! It’s been ages!! How have you been?? Although I haven’t been posting anything on the blog, I do use Instagram quite often to show what’s up with my hair.
I got my hair relaxed 2 weeks ago at a salon in Paris called Polished hair care. This is actually my second time of relaxing my hair there: the first time was on the 3rd of May. At that time, she combed through my previously relaxed hair after encouraging me to process my hair a bit longer to reduce detangling issues. I’m actually glad that I gave in. My hair is a bit straighter now, easier to detangle and I lose less hair on wash day! The only downside is that my hair doesn’t look as full as it did when I compare it to my December relaxer.
The stylist used a professional relaxer called Naked by Essations Honey & Almond Sensitive Scalp Relaxer and I think the total processing time was 20-25 minutes. My scalp was slightly burned…hazards of using relaxers. Other than that, I am quite happy with the results. I also asked her to trim it into a u-shape and honey, I love the shape. It’s just lovely!
Side note: when I was writing this post, I found out that the Naked relaxer has been discontinued and the company has a new relaxer called Soft so Hair relaxer system which is only available to stylists. This sort of leaves me unsure of what relaxer I’m going to use next time!
How was your last relaxer day??

See you guys soon with a wash day update!

Sorry about the scalp burns. I hope they aren’t too bad. I’m glad that you like the results.
Yes the burns were very mild: they were not visible or palpable. My scalp just felt sensitive in certain areas especially the crown. I applied emu oil on them ‘cos I read somewhere that it has anti-inflammatory actions. I think it helped a lot.
I’ve read really good things about emu oil. I’m glad it helped.
